Ease’s Aesthetics (SMP & PMU)
Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a non-surgical treatment that recreates the look of hair follicles for a fuller, more confident appearance. Below are the most common questions we receive from clients considering SMP.
Permanent Makeup (PMU) treatments - including powder brows, lip blush and microblading - are designed to enhance your natural beauty with long-lasting results. Whether you’re new to PMU or looking for a touch-up. these FAQs will guide you through what to expect.
Q: What’s the difference between Microblading and Machine Brows (Powder/Ombre)?
A: Microblading uses a manual blade to create hair-like strokes, while Machine Brows use a fine digital needle to create a soft, shaded effect. Powder or Ombre brows tend to last longer, fade more evenly, and are gentler on the skin - especially suitable for oily or sensitive skin types.
Q: Will my brows or lips look too dark at first?
A: Yes, the pigment appears darker immediately after treatment but softens by up to 30–50% during healing. This is completely normal and part of the process.
Q: How long does permanent makeup last?
A: PMU typically lasts 1 to 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Lighter shades and natural finishes may fade faster. Annual touch-ups are recommended to maintain the colour and shape.
Q: How long is the healing process?
A: Healing takes about 7–14 days. You may experience slight scabbing or flaking, which is normal. Final results appear once the skin has fully healed over 4–6 weeks. We provide full aftercare instructions to help you get the best result.
Q: Is the treatment painful?
A: Most clients feel only mild discomfort. We apply a professional numbing cream to keep you comfortable during the session.
Q: Can I choose the shape and colour?
A: Absolutely! We design each treatment with your input to match your natural features, skin tone, and personal style. We never begin until you are 100% happy with the shape.
Q: What areas do you offer PMU for?
A: We currently offer Powder Brows, Lip Blush and Scalp Micropigmentation. You can book a free consultation to decide what’s best for your needs.
Q: Can men have PMU?
A: Absolutely! We offer discreet natural brow, lip and lash enhancements for either sex.
Q: What is Scalp Micropigmentation?
A: Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a cosmetic tattoo technique that mimics the look of shaved hair or a fuller hairline. It’s ideal for those with thinning hair, bald spots, or receding hairlines.
Q: Does the procedure hurt?
A: Most clients describe SMP as mildly uncomfortable but tolerable. We use a numbing cream if needed to make the process as comfortable as possible.
Q: Will people know I’ve had SMP done?
A: No - SMP is designed to look natural and undetectable. It blends seamlessly with your existing hair and hairline for a realistic shaved-head or fuller-hair effect.
Q: How long does SMP last?
A: SMP can last 3–6 years or more, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Periodic touch-ups are recommended to keep the results looking fresh
Q: How many sessions will I need?
A: Most clients need 2 to 4 sessions, spaced about 1–2 weeks apart, to build the desired density and natural finish.
Q: Can SMP work on long hair or just shaved heads?
A: SMP is commonly used for shaved or buzzed styles, but it can also add density under longer hair to reduce the appearance of thinning areas.
Q: Is there any downtime after the treatment?
A: There’s minimal downtime. You may experience light redness for 1–2 days, but most people return to normal activities quickly. Avoid sweating, shampooing, or sun exposure for a few days.
